Jigger belongs to gravity-based equipment, Jigger need water to work, and it loosens materials in vertical alternative water-flows, and it forms different layers of materials of different densities and discharges both layers from up and down discharging ports separately.This mineral jigger can achieve a good result in processing such as placer gold, diamond, tungsten, iron, tin, hematite, cope, tantalum-niobium, titanium, manganese, barite, zirconium, chrome and gemstone etc.
More density minerals to be separated in ores have, wider range the feed sizes have. For gold bearing placer, when feed grain size is less than 25 mm, separation may be carried out without size classification with the lower limit of recovery up to 0.05 mm. For ordinary metallic ores, size classified separation is conducted to effectively improve indexes for separation and to enhance handling capability for the equipment.
The jigger has a wide range of selecting sizes, high capacity, high production efficiency and features of easy operation and maintenance and occupies a small area. It is mainly applicable to separate the minerals of high contrast of density, such as tungsten ore, tin ore, iron ore, manganese ore, chromium ore, rare metal, non-ferrous metallic substance consisting of gold, and black metallic substance.It is suitable for processing materials generally between 0.074-20mm.

Jigger is mainly consist of three parts: main frame, driving set and jigging chamber. The basic composition of jigger is jigging chambers, also called jigging boxes, and there are screens in each chamber. Water and raw ore will be feed from one end of the jigger screen, the ore granules will move in the vertical alternative water-flows. Layers will be formed because of density difference of materials. The minerals with small density will be in the up layer and will flow together with the up pulp flow while material with bigger density will be in the down layer and will discharged from the down discharging port as jigging concentrate.
Ore dressing by Gravity Jig is considered as one of the major means for gravity beneficiation with the process characteristics being continued feed of ores to be beneficiated onto screen plate in Jigging Chamber, forming thick material layer. Upward flow is injected via screen plate periodically, allowing the lift of bed layer to be loose and flow to drop(or stop rising ).During this process, grains of different densities will displace relatively, with the heavy materials bring delivered into lower layer and the light material being transferred into the upper layer. Concentrate and tailings will be obtained after their being discharged respectively.
